LITTLE FREE LIBRARY
Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization that inspires a love of reading, builds community, and sparks creativity by fostering neighborhood book exchanges around the world.
Through Little Free Libraries, millions of books are exchanged each year, profoundly increasing access to books for readers of all ages and backgrounds.
Julie and Alex Braden’s baby girl, Hailey Jean Braden, was born asleep on June 2, 2017 at 37 weeks. She weighed 6lbs, 8.9oz and measured 20 inches long. They made a promise to her that they would never forget about her. In honoring this promise, they have created a Little Free Library in her memory. The library is located on the grounds of First Christian Church in Alliance, OH. This particular location seemed very appropriate, as their faith has helped to carry and guide them along this very emotional and difficult journey to the point where they are today.
The Braden’s Little Free Library was created to appeal to both young and old alike. Whether it be a parent sharing a cherished moment reading to their child or an adult taking a minute to enjoy a good book, the library was created in the hopes of sharing the wonderful gift of literacy with everyone. It was designed and built with love by the Braden family as a way of giving back and keeping the memory of their precious baby girl alive. They look forward to seeing this library make an impact on the community---just as their little angel has made an impact on their hearts forever.
